Yellow fever is a life-threatening disease caused by a mosquito species that breeds in the proximity of
human habitation. It’s a mosquito-borne disease that is spread by mosquitos in tropical parts of sub- Saharan Africa and South America. It occurs in both urban and jungle environments and is particularly common in the rainy season. Mild symptoms can cause a flu-like illness which you can recover completely but severe symptoms include jaundice, liver, kidney, and respiratory failure.
You can visit the UK NHS website Fitfortravel or the National Travel Health Network and Centre to find out if immunisation against yellow fever is recommended.
