Eligibility for Free NHS Vaccinations

Flu Vaccination


You may be entitled to a free NHS flu vaccination if you fall within one of the following categories:


  1. Adults aged 65 years and over
  2. Adults aged 18–64 years with certain long-term health conditions (including chronic heart, lung, kidney, liver or neurological disease; diabetes; BMI ≥40; immunosuppression; or severe mental illness)
  3. Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy
  4. Residents of long-stay care homes
  5. Carers or individuals receiving a carer’s allowance
  6. Household contacts of those who are severely immunocompromised
  7. Frontline health and social care staff

COVID-19 Vaccination (Autumn 2026 Programme)
For the autumn/winter 2026 programme (running 1st October 2026 – 31st January 2027), the NHS COVID-19 vaccination is being offered to individuals at highest risk of serious illness, specifically:

  1. Adults aged 75 years and over (may be administered alongside the flu vaccine during the same appointment)
  2. Residents in care homes for older adults
  3. Individuals aged 6 months and over with a weakened immune system due to a health condition or medical treatment

For individuals who do not meet the eligibility criteria for NHS-funded vaccinations, we provide private services as follows:

NHS Children’s Flu Vaccinations (Ages 2–3 Years)
We are pleased to offer in-pharmacy flu vaccinations for children aged 2–3 years, available from 1st October 2026.


  1. Vaccine provided: Usually administered as a nasal spray (Fluenz Tetra). An injectable alternative is available if clinically appropriate.
  2. Appointment details: Each appointment includes an eligibility check, completion of the NHS consent form, and post-vaccination guidance. Appointments typically last 10–15 minutes.
  3. Important considerations: Please inform us in advance if your child has an egg allergy, severe asthma, or is undergoing treatment for flu. A parent or legal guardian must be present at the appointment.
Book child's 2 - 3 years Flu Vaccination
NHS Children's Flu Vaccinations (Reception – Year 11 Catch-Up)


Most children in Reception to Year 11 receive their free NHS flu vaccine at school through the School Age Immunisation Service. From 1st December 2026, we are pleased to offer a catch-up flu vaccination service in-pharmacy for children who missed their school appointment, or who are home-educated.
